BWRT & OCD
Releasing the grip and getting your life back
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder - The Answer
Of course, there is nothing ‘standard’ about Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and there are several different views as to its origins, including genetics and traumatic abuse. But BWRT – BrainWorking Recursive Therapy – has been found by experienced practitioners to provide a faster and overall more successful intervention for the problem, whatever the cause, than any other therapy.
There are three main types of OCD and BWRT can help them all

Contamination or Germs
The feeling that contamination occurs all the time and must continually be cleaned up is unshakeable. It doesn’t matter whether it’s dirt, germs, or something else.
And it doesn’t matter when you last cleaned them up. It feels as if they are definitely there, just waiting to infect everything around you and they must be dealt with immediately.

Neat & Tidy
Most people simply do not understand the importance of tidiness and order and they certainly don’t ‘get’ why you’re agitated when they leave their stuff all over the place.
There is definitely a feeling of some sort of security when every thing is in the right place, facing the right way, and with equal spaces between them… and a feeling of anxiety when they’re not.

Counting Everything!
The compulsion to count things cannot be ignored! And it doesn’t matter if you counted the number of lamposts on your journey yesterday – you absolutely must count them again today.
And people without that particular compulsion simply cannot understand the anxiety when the final total is not what it usually is, nor do they realise the importance of the recount.
And now the good news!
Whatever the type of OCD that you have, whether it’s one of the above, or something quite different (because there are an abundance of variations) our OCD practitioners listed on this site have all completed a specialist course in working effectively with the condition and are available now to help you!
There’s no deep exploration of your life and secrets with BWRT and in fact you don’t have to talk about anything you would prefer not to. BWRT simply does not need the level of investigation that some other therapies rely on (though we do have to ask a few questions of course).
Online Therapy
All our OCD specialist practitioners offer online sessions, which means you don’t have to worry about travelling or finding your way around unfamiliar locations or buildings, the standard of hygiene anywhere, or even your appearance, since you can work without the camera being turned on.
BWRT is 100% as effective via online sessions as it is in a face-to-face setting and it still takes only the same number of sessions; though it’s not possible to say exactly how many sessions will be needed it will definitely be fewer than other therapies.
In Person Therapy
We know that some people like to keep ‘their’ OCD a secret, even from family members and of course, online therapy might not be ideal if that is your situation. Also, it can even be the case that anxiety about being overheard or being asked questions afterwards can cause a flare-up of symptoms.
In those cases, one-to-one sessions with a practitioner can be the answer – and the practitioner will ensure that you are able to feel as comfortable as possible. The only ‘downside’ of face-to-face sessions is that few practitioners offer them, which means you may have to travel some distance.
What makes BWRT so different?
BWRT is not just an updated version of other therapies you might have heard of or even tried – methods like hypnotherapy, CBT, NLP, EMDR, and more. In all those methods (some of them dating back to the 1930s or even earlier) therapy time is taken up exploring the mind and personal life to discover where to actually start work. BWRT doesn’t need any of that, just using the brain’s own processes to go immediately to where the work is needed.
BWRT was launched in 2013 after a great deal of research and testing with what was considered by many in the beginning to be an impossible idea. Within just a few weeks after the first training was conducted there were reports of astonishing results in all sorts of different situations, and as the word spread, psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists and psychiatrists started enrolling on the training course, leading to BWRT becoming one of the fastest growing therapies of all time.
How it works
BWRT works in an entirely different way from other therapies, so there’s no exposure work where you have to not do something for increasing lengths of time to prove that no harm will come to you, neither are there any attempts to stop you from doing ‘stuff’ – or making you do ‘stuff’ either!
The OCD-trained BWRT specialist has a deep understanding of the connectedness and interaction between different thought processes and reactions, and a computer assessment is used to ensure accuracy in the assessment of your psychological responses and reactions to various life situations.
All Registered BWRT OCD Practitioners adhere to a strict professional code in which confidentiality is considered as being of the utmost importance.
The BWRT Practitioner is non-judgmental, completely understanding that nobody can control what they think or how they feel, only the way they respond to such thoughts or feelings. Everybody has thoughts and feelings they prefer to keep to themselves and the BWRT Practitioner will not insist they be divulged.
